Sven Heimann studied architecture at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and the Bartlett School of Architecture. He joined Eric Parry Architects in spring 2014 and was appointed Associate in 2017.
As Associate Sven worked on Wilmar Headquarters, a sophisticated office building in Singapore incorporating cascading landscaped terraces and The Goodsyard, a proposal for a 29-storey office tower at the junction of Commercial Street and Shoreditch High Street in London. Prior to that he was Project Architect on 1 Undershaft, a 73-storey office tower with associated public realm in the City of London as well as being part of the competition team. The building was granted planning consent in November 2019.
Sven also led the team of the amenity fit-out for the Chelsea Barracks high-end residential development during the tender stage and worked on 50 Fenchurch Street, a 36-storey office building in the City of London incorporating extensive vertical landscaping and a publicly accessible roof garden. He was involved in all aspects of the design from early massing studies to the complex vertical transport strategy and structural design. He also developed the vertical landscape proposals in close conjunction with the landscape designer and the City of London planning officers.
Before joining Eric Parry Architects, Sven was project architect at David Walker Architects where he was responsible for a range of residential, academic and office projects in central London, including the redevelopment of Milton Court, a 36-storey residential tower with a new concert hall, theatre and academic facilities for the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Riverbank House, a 9-storey office building on Upper Thames Street. He was also involved in the design of the new Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, as well as residential schemes in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Sven is a registered architect in both the UK and Germany.
