RCA x EPA 1:1

It was our absolute pleasure to welcome the Royal College of Art and a selection of their first year MA Architecture students back to our studio for the second year running to exhibit and present their 1:1 investigations to a fabulous and diverse array of invited practitioners, and the team at Eric Parry Architects.

A celebration of work produced over the last academic year, these wide-ranging studies were grouped thematically to incite reflection and debate amongst our panellists and the wider audience.
Both the presentations and the exhibition of the 1:1s themselves demonstrated the skill and dexterity of the students in providing design responses to a wide range of environmental, social, and political issues. It was truly heartening to see the positivity with which they dealt with these matters and the energy and excitement with which they conveyed their ideas.

In uncertain times and in the midst of a climate and biodiversity emergency, all the invited practitioners came away with the same overarching reflection: If these students are an indication of the future of our industry, then we couldn’t be in better hands!

Our heartfelt thanks go out to an inspiring group of young professionals (watch out for all these amazing folk), all our industry guests listed below, the technical studies tutors at the RCA, and to my co-organizer of the event Manja van de Worp…roll on next year!
